Twenty years of friendship and a shared passion for style, design, travel, and community – brought us to Rust in The Barlow.

We first met on the very first day of Kindergarten, as our eldest daughters began school together. From that moment, a fast friendship was formed. Over the years, we’ve watched our girls grow into strong, beautiful, and independent women, full of heart and ambition.

In that same time, we’ve each carved out our own professional paths—Tishia in accounting, and Hayley in construction—running successful businesses with mutual support and constant encouragement. Through it all, we often dreamed of starting something together.

That dream found its spark after a casual round of golf earlier this summer. We found ourselves once again lamenting the lack of stylish golf attire—an issue we’d noticed even during a trip to Scotland, where the iconic St. Andrews offered surprisingly limited options. Half-joking, we said, “We should open a store that does this better.” As fate would have it, Tishia had just come across the listing for Rust. Within minutes, we knew this could be the opportunity we had always imagined.

When we met Alice, the connection was instant and meaningful. It felt like a perfect fit. We fell in love not just with the boutique, but with Alice herself—her vision, her care, her legacy of the past nine years. We knew we wanted to honor what she had built and carry it forward with heart and purpose.

Our journey has already begun. We’re curating a collection of trusted and beloved brands, along with exciting new additions for home, gifts, and more—always with an eye for elegance, comfort, and authenticity.
